A big part of my style came from my mother (a seamstress) who used me as a mannequin when I was a child. Where do you get your style inspiration from? (Tag a page or friend with style)

In order to open any door one needs a simple little tool called a key. As small as it is, it can both open and lock a door. Analogously It's the simple things in life that make the biggest difference. Simplicity can open your doors to success. My "key" to success today is humbleness. What is yours?

If you have ever sat at this counter, then you know exactly how @therock felt at this moment. #hopeful#grateful#resilience#joyful and a deeper understanding of the struggles that took place for civil and human rights.
This one got the blood boiling.
At the Civil and Human Rights Center they created an interactive experience of what it was like sitting at the "Whites only" lunch counter at Woolworth's during the famous "Greensboro sit-ins" during the Civil Rights Movement. Wearing these headphones gives you a extremely small taste of what would be said to your face, while being kicked, spit on etc had I sat at this counter in 1960.
For these four brave, strong willed students to sit thru this with poise, dignity and pride.. to remain non-violent.. keeping the bigger picture in mind.. ending racial segregation..is incredible. Inspiring.
Not sure if I would've had the poise and grace to sit thru this non-violently. I'd like to think I would've, had that been the collective goal, but my blood boiling and sweat starting to bead up on the back of my head said otherwise.
I'm forever grateful to the heroes that did though.
Grateful to learn so much more about our past and my culture. Helps us shape the future. #CivilAndHumanRightsCenter#Atlanta

My Goshhhh! What a week this has been so far. I was a speaker for the National Speakers Association (Influence 17) and was awarded the 2016-2017 Master of Influence Award. Thank you @nsaspeaker for bestowing such an honor upon me.
It was an honor to host Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson @therock at the Center for Civil and Human Rights. You are an inspiration, and an example of how even the busiest person makes time to advocate for civil and human rights. See you soon brother. #Repost@therock
Great dialogue and hours well spent with this good man. @DerreckKayongo, the
CEO of the National Center for Civil & Human Rights.
One of the many things we talked about that resonated with me, was something I learned years ago thru trial and error - the idea that the most powerful thing you can be is yourself.
Be real. Be you.
Thank you brother for being so gracious with your time and passion. See you down the road.

The 4th of July is the beginning of the foundation that was built for both civil and human rights. The draft constitutional document, by Thomas Jefferson in 1776, is the root from which we derive the rights for all Americans. I thank God today as a "new American" for those that have since fought, and continue to die to protect the words of that cardinal document. Happy Birthday America!!! #fourthofjuly
