Who recognises this cutie? 'Snow' the superstar pale koala joey is starting to grow into her big, fluffy ears and her fur is a little more grey now too. She's still easy to pick from the bunch though. Keep an eye out for Snow and her fellow adorable koala joeys these school holidays!
These guys are loving their new Adventure Area! From tomorrow you can meet these mischievous meerkats with our brand new encounter! Book using the link in our bio or here at Australia Zoo, WOO-HOO!

School holidays are here and what better way to celebrate than by visiting #AustraliaZoo! September 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd, Terri and @robertirwinphotography will be feeding the crocs in the @mountfranklin Crocoseum! And of course, you can now check out our mob of meerkats in their brand new Adventure Area!

If you’re visiting us over the holidays, please tag us in your posts so we can see the highlights of your day! Another great shot of Delilah the Sumatran tiger by @ethancole_photography

When you’re a giraffe keeper, your drives on the weekend produce some spectacular scenery and often a few loving visitors, straight to your window. Every day, our team string up huge acacia leaf bunches for our gorgeous giraffe family to graze on. This is little Gigi sniffing out some extra pellets. You can spot her too when visiting the Zoo’s amazing African Savannah, where our giraffe family roam!
Crikey! Thank you @titusoneilwwe for visiting us here at #AustraliaZoo! Hope to see you again soon! Remember, khaki is not just a colour, it's an attitude!
It’s International Red Panda Day! This handsome fellow named Ravi lives here at the Zoo and has a few true loves – his tree tops, his keepers and food, mainly fruit salad and bamboo. In the wild, red pandas roam the eastern Himalayas however like so many other species, their declining habitat has resulted in them being classified as ‘endangered’ by the IUCN with less than 10,000 individuals left. International Red Panda Day aims to encourage people to learn about these adorable animals and help make a difference so they don’t disappear forever.
Tomorrow is the first day of Spring school holidays and with it comes the long awaited arrival of our awesome meerkat mob! These girls are real little characters and so much fun to see. Today, we invited media in to meet them as well as our awesome meerkat sponsor, Compare the Market! For the extra special chance to name some of our new residents, enter Compare the Market's competition before 24 September. Winning submissions get to ‘adopt’ a meerkat!
Eden the Tasmanian devil is such a sweetheart, a really angelic devil and very inquisitive as you can see! This gorgeous girl is part of our 'Adopt' program. You can learn more about Eden and all of our wildlife via our website australiazoo.com.au Those whiskers!

Lelo and her mother were tragically struck by a car, leaving Lelo an orphan. In an admirable effort to help the tiny koala, the family involved in the accident drove for three hours to bring the baby to the #AustraliaZooWildlifeHospital. It’s thanks to these kind strangers that Lelo is receiving the help she needs to one day return to the wild. As #TraumaSeason is upon us, please remember to drive safely on the roads, to adhere to the speed limits and to always check for babies if an accident occurs.

Yesterday, @robertirwinphotography was presented with the Luke Curnow Australian Conservation Award just before the Croc Show. Luke Curnow was an amazing young man who was passionate about conservation and especially bilbies. We’re all so proud of Robert for his efforts to make a positive change in the world. Woo-hoo, go Robert!

Who says unicorns don't exist!? We think Mr DJ the handsome white rhino is magical in his own right. For the biggest animal in the Zoo (if we're going by kilos), this guy has the temperament of a big puppy dog and you can meet him! What a magic way to begin the weekend!

Drumroll… we have a name for the white koala! We’ll give you a clue; it’s white, fluffy and falls from the heavens… You guessed it – after much anticipation, the team at @australiazoo have christened this special bub with the fitting name of ‘Snow’. This little beauty was born with snow-white fur making her a social media sensation. You can visit her at #AustraliaZoo in @queensland’s @visitsunshinecoast !

If you poke your tongue out like a scrub python, you might be able to taste the weekend ahead! Believe it or not, this guy lives in the same snake house as his friend the red-belly black! They may seem like an unlikely pair but the set-up mimics their environment in north Queensland where their species also shares the same area just at different heights with the red-belly loving the ground and scrub python liking the trees. We love reptiles at the Zoo so if you’re planning a visit this weekend, be sure to stop and check out these two special roommates!
Bindi's new shirt is being shipped FREE WORLDWIDE during this month only! Visit the link in @bindisueirwin 's bio for all the details. Thank you for support our conservation work!

Today is #NationalThreathenedSpeciesDay held each year on September 7 to mark the tragic death of the last Tasmanian Tiger in 1936. Australia is home to more than one million known species of plants and animals found nowhere else in the world however we’ve lost 29 mammals since European colonisation, with feral predators implicated in 28 of those extinctions. That’s 29 animals that future generations will never be able to see again except in books and on the internet. Imagine our children and grandchildren only being able to see a koala through a google search! Today and every day, we encourage you to learn more about what you can do to ensure that we don’t lose these amazing animals for good. For more information on how you can become a #WildlifeWarrior, visit wildlifewarriors.org.au
With eyes that swivel in all directions, feet that resemble oven mits and skin that changes colour like a real life mood ring #chameleons must be up there with the coolest lizards in the world! This little girl named 'Lahaina' was part of a very special photo shoot this week showing off her happiest shade of green. What a little beauty! 🦎
These little beauties are so good at chilling out, as you can see! Our gorgeous meerkats will be out and about from the first day of Spring school holidays - September 16th! Mark it in your diaries! Woo-Hoo!

#CrocTrip2017 is officially wrapped! Woo-Hoo! What an incredible year of croc research and conservation. We've caught a total of 27 crocs, 10 new animals and 17 recaptures. We've hit some big milestones this year, we're now tracking 160 crocs, we caught the biggest crocodile in the study and tagged the smallest croc in the history of the project. Let the countdown begin for #CrocTrip2018
