GRILLS ON FILM! Cult director @brucelabruce shares his favourite culinary film scenes, from FFF Issue 1. "In Roman Polanski's Rosemary's Baby (1968), Rosemary (#MiaFarrow) and her husband, Guy (#JohnCassave-tes), sit down to a ‘romantic’ dinner, at the end of which Guy tries to get her to eat the chocolate mousse laced with a strong sedative, that their Satanic neighbour, Minnie (#RuthGordon), has made for the occasion. Rosemary is suspicious of the “chalky under-taste”, so when Guy is distracted she dumps the remainder of the dessert into the napkin on her lap in order to dispose of it. The result is that she is halfconscious during her subsequent rape by Satan. Later, when she is pregnant with the Devil’s spawn, she starts to crave raw liver, and catching her own reflectionin the toaster eating it causes her to vomit. Best use of food in a horror movie ever…" #BruceLaBruce#RomanPolanski#RosemarysBaby#film#foodporn#scenequeen
GRILLS ON FILM! Cult director @brucelabruce shares his favourite culinary film scenes, from FFF Issue 1. "Near the beginning of Arthur Penn’s #BonnieandClyde (1967), after their initial meeting, Clyde (#WarrenBeatty) takes Bonnie (#FayeDunaway) to a diner, where they drink coffee while Clyde accurately (almost clairvoyantly, to Bonnie) describes the restless young girl’s depressing life to her, including her horrible job as a waitress at a cafe. An older, overweight waitress — who could be Bonnie in the future if she doesn’t get out of her dull routine — delivers Bonnie a hamburger, which she bites into. Clyde tells her to change her hair, which Bonnie dutifully does, then digs into her hamburger again, swinging her hair back. Clyde tells her she’s a “knockout.” Nobody has ever eaten a hamburger in a movie as glamorously as Dunaway." #BruceLaBruce#film#foodporn#scenequeen
