What an honor to spend a few minutes with NYC public advocate Letitia James, the first WOC to hold a citywide office in New York. She just pulled 76% of the vote in the most recent primary election.

If you want to be as joyful and luminous as my friend Emily Fletcher, founder of @zivameditation, then you must go get trained by her. Tonight she gave me a much-needed brush up on my meditation practice, and I am so grateful. Meditation is a performance tool that enhances just about everything--your brain power, skin, sleep, sex! Perfect for multi-taskers like me. #bliss#donthatemeditate
This morning in a cycling class I took in my beach town, the instructor told us to crank the resistance and pretend like we were pedaling to happy hour against the wind on a cruiser (no gears on those suckers). It was the perfect cue for the crowd--we've all been there! Sad summer is over!! 🏻 #beachlife

No matter how you feel about the outcome of the presidential election, this is worth a listen. It touches on the endemic sexism and misogyny that women face in politics, but also delves into how unnatural forces--such as the ballooning, unmitigated super-pac campaign funding and artificial intelligence (aka insidious tech tampering) will shape future elections in even bigger and scarier ways. @hillaryclinton somehow sounds different--more relaxed but still resolute. Anyway, for those who are still wondering #whathappened, this provides some honest illumination. Now, onto the book...
One year ago today, I began my dream job as editor-in-chief of @cosmopolitan--and there hasn't been a dull moment since! Grateful to work with so many talented people at such an iconic, uniquely amazing brand. If you need me, I'll be drinking all the champagne! by @aekholloway
I’ve been lucky enough to see renowned sex & relationship therapist @Estherperelofficial speak many times. But last night’s talk was special. It was at a private home for a small group of @summit women, where we got to listen to Esther explain some of the themes of her new book on infidelity—The State of Affairs—out in October. You can read an excerpt in the Oct issue of @cosmopolitan (Esther is also a monthly contributor of ours!) It was amazing to look around the room at the faces of people who were experiencing Esther’s riveting insights for the first time. Trust me, it’s impossible to listen to Esther without having profound epiphanies. When it comes to sexual and emotional struggles, there are universal issues that many people share. And there are personal pains. Coupledom has never been more complicated. One major point Esther made: Affairs are often not driven by the loss of sex…at the heart of them, what the person is seeking is to escape who they have become, a shrunken version of themselves. Straying is an effort to recapture that lost self, but obviously, it can devastate others. Understanding these issues is critical to preserving relationships, which have been degrading over the last few decades. BTW, if you haven’t checked out Esther’s groundbreaking series “Where Do We Begin?” on @Audible, do that this weekend. She takes you into private sessions with clients, then illuminates what’s going on—fascinating stuff.

Note slipped under my door from my NYC neighbor (as in the apartment next to mine), who I met for the FIRST time at a beach bar on the tiny island of Antiparos in Greece last week. So crazy!!! #smallworld
