Today I was able to spend some time with these amazing kids here, Lillie & Ethan! My niece Lillie had asked me earlier in the week if I could come to her school for lunch because there was a boy that bullies her, who didn't believe that I (Nia) was related to her. My answer was "absolutely!" So today I went to Lillie's school, which happens to be the same elementary school I went to as a kid growing up in Carlsbad, @hopeelementary! I sat with Lillie and told her about when I was her age, I was bullied as well! Lillie is a free spirit & she is always encouraged to love herself and be confident in who she is, but sometimes there are kids out there that can be cruel and make fun of her uniqueness! I let Lillie know that I had the same issue when I was her age, and to never allow anyone to change her spirit, that she is perfect the way she is! - With Ethan, he is bullied as well. Ethan was diagnosed with "Williams Syndrome" as a baby. It's a rare disease that people do not quite understand, Ethan is an amazing kid with a happy personality, but has a social awkwardness that kids his age find "weird" and treat him differently. I heard today that he actually spends his lunch time all alone at school @valley__middle__school which completely broke my heart. I made sure Ethan came to see me today because he is a HUGE @wwe fan! The second Ethan walked in the door he shouted to me "it's the strongest woman in the world!" With the biggest smile on his face. He kept telling me that he would totally get in the ring with me and go toe to toe 🏽! We took pictures and I told Ethan he was gonna come see me at a show next week and he was over the moon!
No one person is built the same, we come in a variety of beautiful shapes & sizes. But, it has been my experience that fashion doesn't always account for this. Every one wants to be confident, healthy & made to feel beautiful. For years I have dealt with the anxiety that comes with shopping for clothing when your shape is outside the "norm." I've been that girl that's anxious to go to the mall with her friends because she knows that most of the designers wouldn't carry my size. Though I have come a long way since I was a teen, I would be lying if I said I didn't carry some of that anxiety around today knowing that most designers are not making what 100 million of us plus size beauties need.
I am so excited to support the important #MoveFashionForward campaign that @diaandco has launched. I know firsthand the feeling of not fitting into any designer clothing. On the flip side I know how great it feels & the confidence that comes when you find that perfect designer look that fits you just right and flatters every inch of you. I want everyone to feel the confidence that great fashion can bring. I want everyone to have options that will allow them to express their individual perspective, to tell the world who they are and why they're "not like most." Thank you Dia & Co for not leaving us out! #NYFW#MoveFashionForward#PowerOfBeingYou#NiaJax
This was captured behind the scenes of #RoyalRumble, right before I had a match at the famous Alamodome in front of over 50 thousand people. I had to take a quick moment, to soak it all in & realize how blessed I was to be able to have that opportunity. Don't be fooled I was only mushy for a hot second then I snapped out of it and got into "kick a B's butt" mode! 🏼🏼🏽 #NiaJax#JaxJungle
Never trust a big butt and a smile
You didn't want me at your playground, said I didn't fit in. Well, it didn't work then and it's not working now. I'm doing what I've always done, I'm taking charge and making a spot for myself. #NiaJax#JaxJungle
Stay on the mat where you belong, Sasha. Even your friends don't believe in you anymore. #BrokenBoss
