“We’ve had many moments of extreme frustration through rude peers, disrespectful landlords and ridiculous bankers who have asked where our ‘daddy’ is during business meetings,” says Mriga Kapadiya, one-half of NORBLACK NORWHITE (@norblacknorwhite), a female-owned business based in Delhi, India, on a mission to celebrate indigenous art and immigrant culture through handcrafted textiles. “It’s important to identify and contribute to making sure evolution doesn’t simply mean working towards colonial ideas of greatness and success, including the mass manufacturing of everything,” explains Mriga. “We wish to work with communities around the world, but we will always be committed to promoting Indian artistry.”
Despite the daily challenges, Mriga and her business partner Amrit Kumar are lit up by their female peers. “We are all coming together in such a meaningful type of sisterhood. It makes our hearts explode,” says Mriga. “We are super excited to keep creating, building and creating space for the goddesses around the world.”
This post is in celebration of Women’s History Month. Throughout March, we’ll be highlighting the stories of women doing extraordinary things around the world.

“JLo first approached me to choreograph her tour, which was my big break in the industry. I was honoured and excited and had a bit of a cry, wouldn’t you? I was 20 or 21 at the time – which is pretty young but not too crazy.” Get to know @ParrisGoebel and her journey from watching MTV in New Zealand to working with JLo, Rihanna and Justin Bieber in the new #MACGlobalHeroes, only at maccosmetics.com/culture!

Photo by @gerdludwig. Here is gallery of photographs from my project Sleeping Cars (@sleepingcars) first published as a Photo Journal in National Geographic Magazine. The book is out but my project continues.
In Los Angeles County there are more than seven million registered vehicles. They work all day to create two of LA’s most infamous commodities: traffic jams and smog. But where do all those cars go to rest? By nature, I am a night owl. In what Kafka called his most productive hours, when dream and reality meet, I go out to photograph sleeping cars.
My cars are loners. They command their own space and enjoy showing off their presence. Like a devoted bird watcher I have learned to recognize their sleeping patterns. With voyeuristic pleasure I’ve spied on them in their nightgowns. I’ve watched some sleep in the nude; some take afternoon naps and the few lucky ones get to sleep together. A few times the police have stopped me in my work, wondering what I was doing out in the streets in the middle of the night. Was I a Peeping Tom or even worse, a paparazzo?
The cars in this project are photographed as I find them, I generally don’t like to disturb them in their slumber.
You can see another gallery of Sleeping Cars on my IG @gerdludwig, or you can follow @sleepingcars to see many more images of sleeping cars in LA and around the world. @thephotosociety@natgeocreative#SleepingCarsBook#SleepingCars#LosAngeles#mood#car#coveredcar

Happy birthday, @CelineDion! Or as they say in your native tongue, have a happy birthday, eh?
Jennifer Lawrence effortlessly channels her own style as a young woman of today in this new campaign shot by @BrigitteLacombe: a Bar jacket over a statement T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and the 'D-Fence' bag worn cross-body with its new bohemian strap, all from #MariaGraziaChiuri's Fall 2017 collection.

Can't believe this is a painting. Was gifted this by Shirin Mehra. Infact when I showed this to @rohanshrestha who clicked this picture 3 years back he also could not believe it. So touched by this gesture.
