#tbt NY&NJ all day. Beasts in this cast! @rob_bynes foolish for this one. Get into my boy real quick.
Happy monday! I usually get mad likes on pictures of my semi attractive face or body and with little about what i have to say so heres a little of both. To my #career oriented 9-5'ers, striving #entrepreneurs, from your #truth-seeking, starving #artist of a friend:
Many #success-minded people are addicted to ' #productivity ', to think that being industrious requires constant and #consistent action. Action that is either physical or mental that amounts to something material. That is our collective perception of what it means to work effectively. It's in our #fitness culture, glamorized in many interpretations of culture and societies, and the workplace but what if working smart meant knowing when to shut it off and completely let go for periods at a time? What we fail to realize is that this feeling that we need to be constantly DOING or THINKING something are expressions of #anxiety and the fear of losing control. How do i know? Ive grown up IN anxiety and both low chronic/major #depression since i was about 5 or 6. surprise! The thinking is the most widely recognized expression anxiety. The constant doing is the physical expression of anxiety. And it all goes back to our inability to be content with life as is. We are wanting better for ourselves a lot of the times not for the sake of being better, but out of disdain of ourselves and the inability to accept who we are NOW. We are afraid that if we stop " #grinding and #hustling " we will crumble, miss out, fall behind, or be subject to suffering at the hands of chaos and entropy of the world and universe; all the while failing to realize that this will backfire bc our intention stems from a state of feeling diminished that will only lead to diminished results. It sucks enjoyment out of the journey itself and impede any other beautiful expressions of true #progress bc we are obsessed with #future and end #results. (Contd)
Big thanks to @mrvinny for these shots! Lookin forward to the next

"When we look at the modern man, we HAVE to face the FACT that the modern man suffers from a kind of poverty of the spirit, which stands in glaring contrast with a scientific and technological abundance. We've learned to fly the air as birds, we've learned to swim the seas as fish, yet we haven't learned to walk the Earth as brothers and sisters." Words from MLK Jr truer now more than ever.
Was reading a book at @fixcoffeeco and was approached by a woman in her 50's. She stopped me and says "You're reading a book by one of my favorite psychologists (#Csikszentmihalyi) and I see you're writing diligently in your planner. I can tell you're one of my guys." Turns out she was a school #psychologist turned ex-business account exec at Verizon now runs a company aimed at creating #value and #progress in #society through #selfgnosis. We continue to tell each other our stories. She places her phone on the table and i see that sticker. I slam my wallet on the table in disbelief. There are no coincidences. #God, #miracle, #quantumentanglement, #lawofattraction, #luck whatever you call it. I just call it #life. Life's cool.
Clip from class with @derrellbullock a couple days ago. An amazing teacher and guide right here!
Your periodic fitness/movement health post. Just to show my body isnt just for looks; it actually functions. Flowing. Meditating. Practicing. Total mindbody connection. No outside thoughts or distractions. Coming from a history of impinged hips, lower back pain, patellar tendinitis, pulled hammies and groin that probably wouldnt allow me to do this. My dream is to share my lessons with dancers because workers like us dont get health coverage and we get paid shit despite the fact that our jobs are harder than many athletes. We ought to take our physical health way more seriously whether you freestyle, dance choreography, or are a ballerina. I dont say much because these posts arent as receptive to my following, but i know a considerable amount about how the mind and body functions and that has not only saved my job after tearing the strongest tendon in my body, it's made me stronger than before my injury and helped me address any weaknesses preventing further injury. Ditch the muscle relaxants and anti inflammatories. Movement is medicine.
In and out of frame but had to catch @denzel_chisolm 's steps before he dipped. Good vibes with these friends. Thanks for letting me rock out ps peep my last post if you wanna get that good focused training to the next level!
My best friends and muse, Mama and Snowie. My everything

My kind of aesthetic.
Awareness cannot be useful without first being aware of yourself. Not just awareness of who you are but why you are who you say you are, where that comes from, why that is not truly who you are, what you think, why you think what you think, why that is not truly who you are. We are not our thoughts, our past, our experiences, or our behaviors. We only are if we choose to be. Who we decide to become need not be a reflection of our past, thats how we enter the vicious cycle of unconscious submission to the suffering.. by not being present and by not letting that be the solid foundation as the bridge to the future. Die and be born again everyday. Who we are begins now with a decision. That is your indomitable strength.
