We are excited to announce that the first lot of Masterton / Whakaoriori boomerang bags have now been made by the Te Awhina Cameron Community House.
The ‘Boomerang Bags’ organisation works to reduce the use of plastic bags by engaging local communities in the making of recycled material ‘Boomerang Bags’. The community donates fabric which is transformed into reusable bags that are put back into the community for people to use and reuse.
Masterton District Council (MDC) and Connecting Communities Wairarapa (CCW) have been working closely together, investigating ways that we can all support and promote the reduced usage of plastic bags in our district.
Keep your eyes peeled in the next few weeks to find out how you can get your hands on a boomerang bag!
