Incredible evening of dinner and conversation at WildingCran Gallery with @repbarbaralee about HIV decriminalization with Elizabeth Taylor's family, friends, allies and ambassadors of @elizabethtayloraidsfoundation. Congresswoman Lee is a pioneer in HIV rights since the very early days just like Ms. Taylor and an inspiration to see her fight continues. A little over a week ago we were lobbying congress for these exact same issues and more. My role on @lookinghbo may be over but my role as an activist has just begun. I am so inspired by the folks in this photo and the ones not pictured who also attended. Our country has the tools to end new transmissions and eradicate the disease by 96% if we just used them. Instead we are right alongside some 3rd world countries in the rise of new infections. If the schools and media won't educate our youth it is up to us to educate each other. 1 in 3 gay men have never been tested. 50% of Black gay men will contract HIV in our lifetime and 1 our of 3 Latino gay men. We have the tools to stop this. Please follow @elizabethtayloraidsfoundation for more information and to find out how you can help make a change. Thank you @wildingcrangallery@delta@titosvodka for helping #ETAF make this evening happen it was so inspiring and informative.
We couldn't have had our #HIVIsNotACrime event last night without the evening's sponsor, Tito's! Thank you for helping #ETAF host such an impactful evening. (photo by: @seanblackphoto)

Last night, with her son, daughter-in-law, and nephew by her side, Congresswoman Barbara Lee gave some empowering remarks to our guests at #ETAF's #HIVIsNotACrime event. We are so thankful for all she has done and continues to do for people living with HIV around the globe. (photo by @seanblackphoto)

Last night #ETAF hosted a delicious dinner and urgent dialogue around HIV Criminalization Reform at the Wilding Cran Gallery in Los Angeles. We are so thankful for Elizabeth Taylor's granddaughter and ETAF Ambassador, Naomi Wilding for generously donating her space for such a lovely evening filled with great food, inspiring conversation, and a participative community.
Many thanks to @repbarbaralee for sharing stories with us, to our airline sponsor @Delta, to our community partners Equality California, Los Angeles HIV Law and Policy Project, and The SERO Project, to Sean Black for his dedication and photographic talents, and to everyone who showed up willing to help fight this social injustice. #HIVIsNotACrime (photo by: @seanblackphoto)

1,000 young people ages 13-24 are diagnosed with #HIV every month in the U.S. Today is National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and #ETAF is grateful to spotlight our grantee partner The Grassroot Project, an organization based in D.C. that is making an incredible impact educating and empowering youth about HIV and sexual health through after-school sport programs. ETAF was honored to recently visit The Grassroot Project with a few of Elizabeth Taylor's grandchildren.
In the words of our founder, "To protect our future, we must support prevention programs above all for the young." #NYHAAD
So grateful for queer family and The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation Was privileged to moderate a panel today about #PrEP as a critical #HIV prevention tool in #Queer Communities of Color at the 2017 Funding Forward Conference with the estimable ensemble: Charles Stephens, Nikki Calma, and Joanne Stekler. Shoutout to Sarah Hamilton who made it all come together! #FF2017#SquelchStigma#LGBT#TransRights#ETAF

Best way to end at day on Capitol Hill with our champion Congresswoman Barbara Lee #aidswatch#ETAF
Grateful to PA State Representative Brian Sims for taking the train from Philly to D.C. to learn more about #ETAF and plan future collaboration. I fell in love with this guy when he said on the Pennsylvania state senate floor "each of us put our hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution...we did not place our hand on A constitution and swear to uphold the Bible."
It's that time of year again where as an ambassador I join @elizabethtayloraidsfoundation, Ms. Taylor's family and hundreds of advocates as we descend upon Capitol Hill in D.C. and take meetings to keep congress up to date on the asks and needs of people living with HIV/AIDS for treatment, prevention, and stigma. When I played Eddie on @lookinghbo I never thought it would lead me to a life of advocating for this incredible cause. This is my 3rd time at #aidswatch and the people at this conference are some of the most inspiring and woke individuals I have ever met and with the current administration I look forward to speaking on behalf of those who may not have a voice until we eradicate this disease once and for all. Know your status! Thank you @aidsunited and #ETAF for making this all possible and thank you @ElizabethTaylor your astonishing legacy which continues to inspire beyond your time here on Earth.
Remembering Elizabeth Taylor DBE
One of the first celebrities brave enough to put their head above the parapet and speak out about HIV & AIDS. We owe her a lot, an inspiration and a true humanitarian. Her legacy lives on with the Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation http://elizabethtayloraidsfoundation.org/. So many people world wide owe their lives to this very remarkable lady.
"It's bad enough that people are dying of AIDS,
but no one should die of ignorance."
