Like Converse for lifting or style? Tip: Check out your local marshalls and more likely than not they will have some styles of converse for at least 40% of their original price! These had a suggested retail of $60 and I was able to snag them for $24! Talk about a win! Converse are a classic and great shoe to lift in because of their flat sole which allows you to transition energy from your feet into the ground more efficiently. Ever since I've really been able to focus 100% on my strength/physique training, I've been finding myself cooking more than I ever have in my life. I understand that in order to not only grow but also get stronger, I need to supply my body with the energy and building blocks needed to do so.
I am not a big fan of cardio, but for me I really enjoy skipping rope as it is not only fun to do once you get the hang of it, but also is fantastic at getting the heart rate going and shredding calories. I have been doing this fasted and also superset it with hitting the heavy bag. Give it a try!
Any time you sincerely want to make a change, the first thing you must do is raise your standards. Training with @captainchav has been just that. Every workout, every set he pushes me past my limits.. "If you're gonna throw up go outside.. and if you're not going to finish your set go home.".. Above all else @captainchav has taught me to always stand tall no matter the situation. #GrindDNA#hardestworkersintheroom#Ididthrowup
Been training fasted the past two mornings to experiment and hit the bench hard today, threw some squats in there, and did some arms as well. At the end I decided to do some jump rope and heavybag for cardio. Today was a good strong day.
Recently I've been in a big rut mentally and physically. I've noticed that I've been overcomplicating things and have strayed away from just drinking some preworkout, grabbing a pair of headphones and going to the gym. All the gear is nice and amazing but sometimes day after day of taking the time and putting the same thing on and seeing the same sights makes you grow dull. Today I returned back to what I always did, taking some pre, throwing the headphones on and just going in with no plan and performing my shoulder workout based on what I'm feeling that day. • Sometimes we need to take a step back and see why we feel the way we do. Remember why we started and what made us fall in love with it in the first place.
@USNFIT#GrindDNA! #BestSelf : "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass ... It's about learning how to dance in the f*cking rain!" ~@GregPlitt#BeRemembered I made a promise to MYSELF, long ago, to make every single day of my existence count for something! THAT is what "No Days Off" truly means to me ... Doing everything in your power and control to #EXECUTE even a piece of your grander plan and to GIVE BACK to others -- day after day -- in order to get that much better, stronger, sharper, and more prepared and resilient, physically and mentally. #NeverSettle Today was another GOOD day, and I deeply appreciate ALL of you! 🏼 ~Dr. Matt #DrMattFitness#PHDFitness#TeamUSN#YourYear#2017
Beginning to train with 315 by wearing the slingshot and having my spotter Paul @pderetskiy keep his hands on the bar the entire time to keep it moving in different parts of the movement. I am by no means claiming I can touch 315 yet on bench but it's important to get out of your comfort zone in a safe way, this is mainly so I can work on the eccentric (bar coming down) and also to get my bones, ligaments, tendons to start to adjust to this heavier weight load. Hoping to be able to rep out 225 soon enough. Thoughts @scott6baker ?
