Earlier today Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) in collaboration with US Embassy in Pakistan organised a Seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights” and “Contract Law”. The seminar was hosted by Haris Zaheer Bajwa. Haris has spent over a decade developing and defending patents for the world’s leading innovating companies – including Google, Broadcom, NEC, Alcatel Lucent, Samsung, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Fuji Electronics, and AOL. He has worked as a patent examiner for the US Patent & Trademark Office, as well as for some of the leading firms in this field (Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP and Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox, PLLC). The seminar was attended by women entrepreneurs from fields as diverse as the education sector and the fashion, health and beauty industry to name but a few. Mr. Meesaq Arif, Executive Director, Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan was also present and talked about registering and legalizing business in Pakistan.
