BAYWATCH [ 2017 ], directed by #SethGordon.
Never seen the original series, to be able to compare it, so coming into this movie, I wasn't expecting anything special.
We have a team of life guards at the beach, lead by their all-round great guy Mitch (#DwayneJohnson), sometimes working outside their jurisdiction, going as far as "fighting crime" (it is as funny as it sounds). Once they recruit newcomers, one of which is a down of his luck 2-time Olympic gold medalist Matt Brody (#ZacEfron), they are now facing a new threat in a form of a gorgeous mob lady (beautiful Hindi actress #PriyankaChopra), who's planning on taking over all of the bay.
Mixed with caricature pathos and sometimes silly humor, this, is it comedy or an action movie, you can safely assume thrash, but the thing is, this film is self-aware of itself being stupid, and plays around with it just fine. There is quite a few serious scenes, that this movie's comedic plot is deluted with, so you won't get tired of it being just funny through out and nothing else. Obviously, there is bunch of easter eggs, referring to the series, and I bet every true fan of which may spot with a naked eye.
The cast is actually what makes this movie, surprisingly, enjoyable. You have #TheRock and Efron (who's a freakin' great choice for the role, the guy is extremely talanted), you have some hotness in a form of #AlexandraDaddario (with all her slow motion running scenes, and constant jokes about her tits), a comic relief in a form of #JonBass, and of course, the cameos from #DavidHasselhof and #PamelaAnderson, who were the main stars in the original series. It is immediately noticeable, that all the actors really have fun and have a great time, while making this movie, and it was probably a part-time vacation going side by side with the shooting of the film.
Overall, it's a fun, one-time experrience, which I kinda enjoyed for what it was, even though there ain't nothing special about it.
Try not to compare it to anything, and you'll find this movie watchable. I'll go with a 6/10. It's so much better then I heard. #Baywatch#lifeguard#comedy#action#beach#bay#MattBrody#funny#moviereview#filmreview
Die-hard gamers compete to break world records on classic arcade games. I was completely immersed in this almost cinematic style storyline of an ordinary guy taking on a world record held from a man that has been living off his well earned glorified success for over twenty years and the trials and tribulations the man has to go through in order to break the world record. The King of Kong is a surprisingly engaging documentary worth your time, even if you’re not into gaming.
*running in slow motion to the Baywatch theme and turns to you with a guilty smile* "I REGRET NOTHING!!" Baywatch is the big screen adaptation of the widely popular TV series with David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson being in that show and now the movie has Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron as lifeguards who perform over the top duty tasks to keep the beach safe from all types of trouble including a drug bust that threatens the safety of the beach. First off, this is my guilty pleasure that I'm happy to admit I really liked. It's raunchy and stupid but it's aware of it and plays off of it surprisingly well. Speaking of surprises, there's way more penis than boobs here... False advertising you may say. (Haha). Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. Jon Bass was the side character who made me laugh the most and often was the one I could relate to. Some CGI moments are noticeable and unnecessary. Zac and Dwayne did bicker for a little too long but eventually made up for it. No lie, the film is cheesy, bad, ridiculous and predictable but the film knows that and has fun with it.
Baywatch splashes with ☆.
Know what you're getting into rather than expect something so high when it's source material wasn't serious itself. #baywatchmovie#baywatch#dwaynejohnson#zacefron#alexandradaddario#jonbass#kellyrorhbach#ilfeneshhadera#yahyaabdulmateenii#priyankachopra#davidhasselhoff#pamelaanderson#sethgordon#damianshannon#markswift

'Baywatch', the remake that won't leave you craving for more. • A film headlined by Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron already gave a bad feeling before it started, since both are good at giving performances less than credible, but 'Baywatch' takes the crown when talking about the acting of the cast, among the worst in recent years. Superficial, ridiculous, barely original, with humor with no bounds whatsoever and without the soul of the original show, 'Baywatch" just shows how Hollywood can sometimes be 100% promotion with 0% content. A film so bad it should sink in the ocean.
When a dangerous crime wave hits the beach, the legendary Mitch Buchannon leads his elite squad of lifeguards on a mission to prove that you don't have to wear a badge to save the bay. Joined by a trio of hotshot recruits, including former Olympian Matt Brody, they ditch the surf and go deep under cover to take down a ruthless businesswoman whose devious plans threaten the future of the bay.
