BE THANKFUL. BE GRATEFUL. GIVE WHAT YOU CAN WHEN YOU CAN. I HOPE IN THE COMING MONTHS MY #SONGWRITING REACHES THE EARS OF THOSE WHO NEED TO FEEL AND KNOW THEY'RE BEING HEARD. STAND STRONG. #Repost from @projectgreatnews with @regram.app ... IMAGINE LIVING IN MASII, a village of 2500 in southeast Kenya. Benson, Selina, Nathan (8), and Faith (5) are your neighbors. Surrounded by extreme poverty, families in the village struggle to grow food with little rainfall.
Benson: “It was so bad that we could only eat one meal a day, and we could not even afford the $10 monthly rent as well as other expenses for clothing and school for my son.”
Four years ago, Benson was hired as a laborer at a new one-acre farm started by @TumainiInternational. Tumaini helps communities address their own challenges by assessing the resources, skills, and experience available in their own village (aka Asset-Based Community Development).
Irrigated year-round by one of only two wells in the village, the farm grown vegetables and raises poultry to help feed several hundred sponsored children as well as the community at large.
Now, Benson oversees the three full-time employees and serves as the marketing representative. Did we mention trade schools are bringing their students to learn from Benson?
Benson’s family now enjoys three meals a day and pays for their kids’ educational expenses, clothing, and an occasional luxury – such as candy for his children.

"Most people are on the world, not in it — have no conscious sympathy or relationship to anything about them — undiffused, separate, and rigidly alone like marbles of polished stone, touching but separate.
These temple destroyers, devotees of ravaging commercialism, seem to have a perfect contempt for Nature, and instead of lifting their eyes to the God of the mountains, lift them to the Almighty Dollar." -John Muir
This Valentines day, in the first of our artist collaborations with Worklogue Collective, Shatrupa Kaushal (@shatkosh), an aspiring filmmaker, tries to break the 'love barriers' of the lesser known people of our society. Bringing them all the warmth their souls need. We recommend you watch 'Let's talk about love' today and experience the same.
