When you work in beauty 🏻 (or you're just addicted 🏻), you end up amassing quite the collection of products 🏻which then lends itself to having commitment issues with any one particular item 🏻 Before you know it you're playing 'skincare bartender' everyday making cocktails between ingredients, products, brands, etc. 🏻 I'm trying to get better at not opening things the second I get them, and committing myself to an ongoing relationship with them so I can better gauge our compatibility So because of its short shelf life, I'm making a commitment to this @cosrx x @charlottejcho#tripleclightningliquid 🏻 20.5% #ascorbicacid#chokeberry ...
Have you used this? Did you dilute it with a moisturizer? I want to hear your feedback!!

#1Empty1Newbie - Vitamin C Serum
The EU launch of Paula's Choice Vitamin C Booster couldn't have come at a better time - just as I'd been polishing off my Dr Dennis Gross Vitamin C.
To preface this overview - I have been prioritising skin textural issues and congestion over the last few months. As such, when I have been using Vitamin C etc., its primary role has been as an antioxidant and not a brightener - it has only be in the last couple of weeks that I have shifted a little more emphasis on pigmentation.
EMPTY - DDG C+ Collagen Brighten + Firm Vitamin C Serum
Contains three forms of Vitamin C:
3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid - the stable and ester version of Ascorbic Acid that NIOD bangs on about. The extra ethyl group greatly increases its lipophilicity and enables it to penetrate more readily into the dermis. It can then be hydrolysed appreciably back into the active form, Ascorbic Acid.
The latter two are so far down the INCI list that I doubt the concentration of either is noteworthy, and unhelpfully, none of the actives have disclosed concentrations. But again, like I said, I bought this primarily for the antioxidants - and antioxidants it has aplenty alongside many other fab ingredients. To roll off a few (in INCI order): Niacinamide, Lactic Acid, Collagen Amino Acids, Superoxide Dismutase, Glycine, COQ10, Hexylresorcinol (brightening), Isoquercetin (a flavenoid), Turmeric root extract, Phytic Acid and Citric Acid. So plenty of antioxidants and some skin brighteners (although I didn't buy it for that purpose). ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
⏹Results and user experience⏹ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Although I didn't actively look out for it, I did notice some breaking up of pigment but overall underwhelming in this area - my retinol did far more for my pigmentation. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

Pineapple power is real !!! And that's why we use it 365 days a year!!! Did you know ?: A single serving of #pineapple has more than 130% of the daily requirement of #VitaminC for human beings, making it one of the richest and most delicious sources of #AscorbicAcid. Vitamin C helps in reducing illnesses and #boosting the immune system by stimulating the activity of white blood cells and acting as an #antioxidant to defend against the harmful effects of #FreeRadicals. Free radicals are dangerous byproducts of cellular metabolism that can damage various organ systems and disrupt function, as well as cause healthy cells to mutate into cancerous ones. The vitamin C content of pineapples defends against this ! #UpCups#Trinidad#FruitCup
How I keep my skin clear make a shake load it with tons of vitamin C and drink daily #AscorbicAcid
I love Ascorbic Acid and so does everyone perhaps. I used the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop with 5% L-Ascorbic Acid as my vitamin C starter, I was so happy with it, I felt so healthy and I just couldn't get away from it. But guess what, once I was out of it and picked this TIA'M My Signature C Source up, I just couldn't get over it.
This was formerly the famous and best seller, OST C20, it was renewed and currently named TIA'M My Signature C Source. It's said that the formulation is just the same as prior product OST, only name has been changed. This serum does a very very wonderful job for me, it's a holy grail and no wonder it became best selling item for about 3 consecutive years, I missed the haul by the way. It gets rid of pimples, clears out, firms up, smoothens, shrinks pore, nourishes, and what else I would say, it lifts up my skin to a healthier stage, the best part is I can visibly notice major differences. I'm not being exaggerating, but I'm telling you what I'm experiencing. It's only a few weeks and I can see big differences on my face without any bad reactions, I really have no problem using this, I guess my skin is getting used to acids.
Eventho it suits me very well, our skin conditions are different, for you with sensitive skin perhaps still need a trial to make sure that it's okay since it contains 20% Ascorbic Acid which is high in Vitamin C range. I tell you, last night, I used my Neogen Bio-peel, I didn't know, I just went in with my vitamin C serum afterwards, and I felt it was stinging quite bad. So please be cautious. And also, this formula is quite sticky which I don't really like, but it's okay I can hold it. #TIAM#OST#C20#Neogen#VitaminC#AscorbicAcid#Asianskincare#koreanskincare#skincareroutine#skincarejunkie
#SkinTipTuesday || Avoid using niaciniamide (Vitamin B3) and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) together! A lot has been said about combining these 2 vitamins and the effects on the skin.
In short, Vitamin C, to be effectively absorbed into the skin, sits in it’s happy place around a PH of 3.5- an acidic environment. Vitamin C when mixed with Vit B3 at this PH, is hydrolysed into nicotinic acid which can be irritating and cause a transient facial flushing in the skin, negating one of the many benefits of Vitamin B3....soooooooooo..... #skintip || To get the benefits of both #skinvitamins why not layer one after the other or separate them into an AM or PM routine....a big shoutout to @kindofstephen who manages to explain this process so articulately
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid -AA)
Have you taken your Vitamin C today and every day? AA is essential for connective tissue, and is present in every tissue in the body for repair and regeneration. AA is crucial for immune system and to fight infections.
Unfortunately, during evolution, human beings lost one enzyme in the liver to help form AA from sugar. Most mammals manufacture large amounts of AA. For example, an unstressed cow grazing in the field may make 10-20 grams of AA daily. Humans make 0 grams!
I recommend take 1-2 grams of Vitamin C daily. At the beginning of a cold, take 2 grams of AA 3-4 times a day or more as tolerated. If real bad come and get an IV Vitamin C drip of 25 grams at AAWC!

Deliciously Vitamin C Packed Rosehips! [l. Rosa spp] Did you know that rosehips contain loads more vitamin c than oranges? A lot more bioavailable and in a less sugary & inflammatory fruit too! Almost time to harvest - best to wait until after a frost. Many of the awesome antioxidants we receive the benefits of when we graciously consume plants are created as a line of defence for that plant - when it starts to frost the rose plant begins to produce more antioxidants to protect itself, making it a primo time to harvest some of these nutrient packed little delights! When preparing, it's important to note not to consume the seeds within - either pinch away the fruit or cook it down and separate out - they can be irritating to the intestines and more laxative than one would appreciate) Always harvest gracefully, gratefully
