LEAVE YOUR SHOES AT THE DOOR. At many yoga studios you take off your shoes and leave them outside. And then when class is over you grab your shoes or someone else's Birkenstocks. Some studios allow you to wear Army boots in class as long as you repeat "Namaste" a half a dozen times like Hail Marys.
It's an interesting metaphor: leaving your crap at the door--be they troubles, ideas or attitudes--with the option to pick them up at the end of class. Forgetting Downward Dog or Headstand, if you could master this one idea--to leave all outside influence (the past or future) outside and WHATEVER the situation you just deal with it untainted in the moment--you'd be a real yoga master.
One just has to know any woman to have experienced, "Well, six months ago you said ____!" Even if someone pissed you off only 6-minutes ago and you stormed out of the room, could you imagine the impact a Reset To The Now button would have on you? Have you ever "brought the wrong shoes with you into class" and was thereby short with another person because of something you were sure they said, did or meant--but they didn't?
The problem is not that the reset button doesn't exist but that you don't want to leave your shoes at the door. One of my favorite spiritual inquiries: How's that working out for you?
My musings in the shower this morn ....
Every morning say these words to yourself, as there really is no other day that matters more than TODAY.
I am quite guilty of looking too far forward or even back, and as I've come to realise, it doesn't help me focus on what is important about today. And every little task we perform is important enough to have our full attention and focus....and our love of course.
So I'm learning to treat every day with importance & purpose, whether it be getting a shit load of work done, play time, or having a day to relax, or a bit of it all.
MY time is worthy of ALL OF ME, as is yours of you.

Hello Saturday Today's quote from my 365 Days of Mindfulness Make this present moment your friend and ally, not your enemy. "As soon as you honor the present moment, all unhappiness and struggle dissolve, and life begins to flow with joy and ease. When you act out of present-moment awareness, whatever you do becomes imbued with a sense of quality, care, and love — even the most simple action."
