My HIIT Cardio Session felt AMAZING this afternoon!
So what is HIIT cardio and why am I doing it?
HIIT just like any type of cardio is a tool for fat loss. It stands for High-Intensity Interval Training and it's where you give max effort for short bursts of time followed by active recovery periods. This type of training keeps your heart rate up and therefore helps you to burn fat.
I am in a cutting phase so I need to utilize HIIT circuits to help me burn fat
Due to the intensity, HIIT workouts can boost your metabolic rate for up to 48 hours after you've left the gym helping you to burn fat even when you're not training.
HIIT workouts are also super quick and convenient. Mine was only about 20 minutes long including the warm up and cool down periods.
A basic HIIT cardio session would be a 30 second sprint followed by 60 seconds of walking for about 10-15 intervals. You can adjust based on your training level by increasing the speed of the sprint or sprint time or by decreasing the walking period. #roadtostilettos
