Day 5: Today was a change of pace from the past few days. I stayed in town and walked around for 7-8 hours. I wandered back down to Fisherman's Wharf to walk along the docks and take a look at the floating houses. There's also a park next to the Wharf is beautiful and lined with Pink Sakura Cherry Blossom trees. The trees are everywhere and they're stunning!
Next I made my way over to the Gatsby Mansion which looks like a building from a movie set. The beautifully manicured flowers in front of the white, large historic buildings make the grounds magical to walk around.
Before heading to lunch with my better half, I walked over to the Parliament building and made my way inside to tour the historic halls. Each of the windows I walked by had a stained glass window in place and each doorway featured ornate arches. One of the most prominent displays celebrated 100 years of women having the right to vote.
We opted for lunch at Barb's Fish n Chips again which was followed by delicious ice cream on the docks as well. .
We spent the remainder of the day walking around the streets of downtown Victoria, stopping in to The Fairmount Empress on the way back. In true Victoria form, we experienced rain showers off and on throughout the day but it didn't put a damper on our explorations through the streets. .
