I have a little bit of social anxiety. This verse, Isaiah 51:12, reminds me that people are of no consequence to me. God is the only judge I need to worry about. If people are as grass, why should I waste time trying to impress them or avoid being judged by them, or please them? Rick Nelson says in his song Garden Party, "You can't please everyone so you got to please yourself." I would change that "yourself" to "God"--"you can't please everyone so you got to please God."
. Now just because people are as grass, doesn't mean that I am better than them. If all people are as grass, well I'm a person of course, so I am as grass too! We're all equal. It doesn't mean, however, that we have no worth. Jesus Christ loves us so much that He paid for us with His Blood and His Life. If that doesn't give us worth I don't know what does
. So. Here is the message that I got from this reading, in a nutshell: I have nothing to fear from other people, and I don't need to worry about what they think of me or trying to make them like me. Jesus has given me worth and I am equal to everyone I meet because Jesus Christ died for ALL of us, and He gives us all worth through His most precious Blood. He is my Comforter and my Guide, and I need to focus on Him more than anything else ♡
