I try to spend a little time every morning with someone who inspires me. // Lately I've reading a few books about Hans + Sophie Scholl (and their friends) who started an underground resistance movement in Nazi Germany. Something that has impressed me SO very much is the way that no good thing -- no small resistance to the overwhelming evil that surrounded them -- was too small or "unimportant" for them. They took the time to show kindness + love + respect for humanity not ONLY in the big, heroic, life-risking ways... but in the tiny, mundane ones too. Author Richard Hanser describes it thus: "Among the massive oppressions the Germans were inflicting on millions... these were slight and fleeting incidents, mere firefly glints of light in a time of overwhelming and impenetrable darkness. But they were manifestations of the unsleeping conscience that insists on asserting itself where decency and humanity are concerned, whether the matter is trifling or towering,". // Today's goal: Be a firefly. You never, ever know the full impact of even the smallest of your choices. #SophieScholl#HansScholl#TheWhiteRose#whatyoudomatters#WWII#happythursday#havecourageandbekind#light#firefly
