Is there any day in winter that isn't a soup day?!? I've been living off the stuff but this gem is now a seasonal favourite! White winter soup with crispy kale and burnt butter pine nuts. It sounds so fancy and is only $2.50 a serve! Get it in ya! Recipe in the profile or 🏽 http://wp.me/p4FsI4-yt
Grilled sanma marinated in fermented Yuzu • shirako tempura w/matcha • shiitake cooked in sweet shoyu • kuroi miso. "Close your eyes and eat it." Apply this method when you encounter unfamiliar foods given by cooks/family/friends not some random dude on the street, in that case you run. That's just good judgment.
Although these pictures might not appear to be a significant transformation, these pictures signify a total transformation of how I feel about my self worth especially my health. Growing up, weight was never an issue for me despite all the crap that I ate. I could tell you the number I wanted at almost any fast food restaurant, and vegetables weren't in my vocabulary. My diet consisted of a variety of frozen foods, canned goods, cheese burgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and macaroni and cheese. Even if my mom tried to make something healthy (e.g. stuffed bell peppers), I would not touch it. Coca Cola was my drink of choice, and Powerade was my "water". When I went to college, my eating habits got out of control and the freshmen 15+ quickly became a reality. Living off of Lean Cuisines and 100 calorie fiber one bars, I shed the initial weight gain , but it didn't remedy my unhealthy food habits and my lack of exercise. Then five years ago, I moved in with my aunt, uncle, and cousin, and my health truly changed. My cousin Angela became my personal trainer and nutritionist. The first day that I went to the gym with her, I told her mid workout that might throw up, and she told me "that's okay just don't do it on me". The next 8 weeks of summer, she coached me everyday and I found my love stair master, running, and weight lifting. All were things I thought I could never do or excel at, but she told me I could. And for once, I believed in myself. I began eating right, and I took my exercise regime back with me to school. I started meal prepping, eating veggies, and running the LSU lakes. Over the 5 years, I've had highs and lows, but I'm so proud of my health journey. So for everyone out there who thinks they aren't cut out for working out or eating healthy, you are wrong. You got this, boo! 🏻🏻If I can do it, SO CAN YOU! You just need to love yourself and your God given body and believe in YOU!🏻🏻
