I think The Voice From the Stone is a good movie. Emilia gives a solid performance. But if you didn't watch it, do it without expecting anything. If you haven't, don't watch the trailer only the movie.
My opinion, no spoil:
First at all, the cinematography is amazing. I loved the decorations and the costumes. It's aestheticaly pleasant. The castle and the surroundings were also beautiful.
Secondly, I think the plot is a good concept. I found it interesting. I liked the characters.
By the way and to finish the good points, Emilia's acting was very very good. I have to admit that she wasn't so good in Terminator (it's also bc the bad script), she was good in Me Before You but on this movie she gave an amazing performance (I was shook), she prooved that she is a good actress.
However I also think she deserves better movies. This one was not bad but I won't be THE movie of the year and THE movie everyone's gonna remember of her. I want to see a movie in which people will remember and will associate to Emilia Clarke bc of her good acting and bc of a good plot. She deserves to be known for better movies.
The Voice From the Stone has some negative points. the first one is the trailer. They gave us so much in the trailer, I was a little bit disappointed when I saw the movie. I thought it was going to be scary and fantastic with ghosts, voices through stones,.... But it wasn't. It wasn't really extraordinary. When I saw the trailer I expected something big. but it wasn't really big. too bad. if the trailer didn't show us a spectacular movie I wouldn't have expected a spectacular movie. I liked it, really, I think it's the best she filmed so far. [SPOILERS]
I didn't really like this american end. I mean this happy ending. At the end we don't really have explanation and I think the metaphor of the mother's death, of the voice through the stone is not used... I didn't really see the end like this. Of course I'm glad everyone is happy but I would have see the end not like that but I don't really know how...
