In an interview with the NY Times last week, the director of civil rights under Betsy DeVos claimed that 90% of campus rape allegations were categorized as either 'we were both drunk' or an ex-girlfriend seeking revenge after a breakup. Although she has since apologized, this statement coincided with several meetings between DeVos and various college 'Men's Rights' groups that advocate to reduce punishment for perpetrators of assault, asserting that women use rape accusations as an abuse of power.

As a feminist & Yorkshire woman this news made my day. Lady Hale comes from the same area as me, Richmond, North Yorkshire. Equality matters & this is an important step. Plenty more still to be done!

It's been a minute since we've had any art prints in the shop, but that changes today! Girl Power art prints just hit the site and we're giving $2 to @plannedparenthood_stl_swmo for each one purchased. 🏽🏾🏿
#FakeNews - peddled by Showmen who don't want you to #VOTE. Don't let others deter you from having your say at the #ballotbox. Are you registered to vote? Make sure you're all set for the next election, which may come sooner rather than later. Our #Emilymatters project encourages women & young people, in particular, to use their voices & be heard. Know someone who has turned 18 since #ge2017? It's time to #registertovote & be #electionready.
Do #suffragette Emily Davison proud: In less than 5 minutes you can ensure that your voice will be heard at the Ballot Box - one of the v few times when we truly are equal.
Feel like things never change, so why bother? Because millions of people don't vote. It suits those who want to keep things their way if you choose not to have your say. Still think there's no point? You can be sure those with very different views to you will vote. Why let their voices be louder than yours?
Politicians are all the same.. Yet more Fake News. The more women & young people who vote, the louder our voices will be & so whoever forms the next government will have to listen & act. More young people voted at the last election & the result surprised many. Just imagine if even more of us had used our hard won democratic right. Your vote is powerful & fragile. Be election ready & register to vote today! www.gov.uk/register-to-vote ️| Step Up | Vote | Lead | Because #youmatter | bit.ly/Emilymatters
