It's a happy Monday here at Date & Thyme We've just received our first delivery since Hurricane Irma, the coolers are being stocked once again with fresh organic produce, and the kitchen is cooking up a storm. We are so happy to be back! 🥒🥗🥕
My heart goes out to all of those affected by the catastrophic #HurricaneIrma which left a sea of devastation in its wake in the Florida Keys. But the Keys are home to some of the strongest and most resilient individuals I've come to know. I'm positive in due time and with all the help, they'll be back up and running better than before!! Here's a #throwback to my favorite place in Marathon.
Thank you for helping us get the word out that SNiP is here to help and for sharing our posts and donating.
We have 6 more weeks of hurricane season to endure. But our teams will continue to work hard to get the pets of the TCI what they need.
Since Hurricane Irma we’ve helped several animals (7 which were in dog fights – 6 required surgery, 3 which needed help from our Hurricane Irma Fund). We held our September Spay Day and sterilized 14 animals, and another 2 were performed while tending to wounded dogs that required surgical repair of their bite wounds. (Note spay neuter comes from the SNIP general fund at no cost to the owner, and is not coming from the Hurricane Irma fund).
Medications given to those in need, free of charge out of Bark & Bliss supply, until donated supplies can arrive.
This week our 1st shipment of food will arrive. Thank you to Island Bargains, IPAW and Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. SNIP will distribute this food to the areas that need it most.
The team will head to Grand Turk as soon as the airport will allow us, to administer aid to one of the hardest hit islands. We will work closely with the Grand Turk Chapter of TCSPCA.
We have secured a large donation of food from Rescue Bank and large donation of medication & supplies from Henry Schein Animal Health, as well as Alabama Orthopaedic Clinic, P.C. and Zimmer Biomet. This will allow us to make our donated monies go much, much further, as most meds and supplies used will be donations.
Current expenditures for the fund include $2,816 in veterinary treatments and medications for patients that have received care since Hurricane Irma at Bark + Bliss, $2,120.64 for 3 pallets of pet food (a total of 90 large bags of pet food).
Ongoing costs we expect will be further veterinary services, shipping to get the supplies on island and customs duty, though that is significantly reduced thru Oct 31st to help with relief for the island.
While my race with @lifetimetri#escapetomiami was cancelled due to #hurricaneirma that didn't stop @alphaenduranceteam and @gatoradeendurance from holding a successful mock simulation. Thanks to all that showed up!
We will be donating our medals to @wefinishtogether, a organization that will take your past medals and give them to someone who needs to know they have the support and care that they may need to get them through whatever challenges face them. Consider donating yours!
Hey everyone! I’m finally back on track after #HurricaneIrma! Make sure to keep those orders coming! If you had placed an order in the past week, I will be shipping today, and adding a little extra for the delay! Thanks again to everyone that has supporter so far
