Today Animal Justice Project and Djurrättsalliansen handed in a >55K petition to Karolinska Institutet against primate experiments. We also held a meeting with animal researchers and the Vice Chancellor of the university.
Thanks partly because of the petition, the university will not import more monkeys for malaria research. 120 primates were to be used, and so far only 24 have been. We urged the university to use no more and put an end to this cruel and futile research.
Together we will continue to monitor the progress of this study and campaign against Karolinska Institute's monkey experiments.
TODAY! We hand in >55K petition and meet with monkey researchers!
Animal Justice Project is in Stockholm, Sweden today to hand in a monumental petition alongside Djurrättsalliansen against monkey experiments at Karolinska Institutet.
A staggering 55,139 compassionate people have signed to halt the import of 120 macaque monkeys to the lab (the last of its kind in Scandinavia), and end the cruel malaria experiments taking place there.
Also joining us in a meeting with researchers at the university is Animal Justice Project Science Advisor, Dr Andre Menache. Together we are pushing for an end to primate imports and experiments.
From all of us at Animal Justice Project and Djurrättsalliansen, a heart-felt THANK YOU to everyone who has signed!
