Tall and short, dark and light, freckled or tanned, we all come in different packages. Most determined by our genetics before we make our big debuts. We can't control what we were BLESSED with and we just have to play the hand we're dealt. .
You can control your perspective though. Pretty much since I can remember I was told I took after my Moms side of the family and would too be overweight as soon as I popped a baby out. Talk about creating a terrible body image of yourself at such a young age. .
So guess what?! My entire first pregnancy 🤰🏼I feed into what I had been told my entire life. Why eat healthy or workout when my cards were already dealt and I had gained roughly 50 lbs. I quickly forced myself in the gym and restricted my diet and continued the downward spiral through my 2nd pregnancy and through my 20's. .
The mind shift change didn't happen until after my 3rd pregnancy at 30 years old. So what if genetics aren't on my side, so what if I have stretch marks, SO WHAT if I hold body fat in certain areas. I carried 3 beautiful children in my body!! .
My body will never be the same as it once was, but I can be stronger everyday by focusing on being healthy + happy. My Mom bod ROCKS because only I could carry the babies I was blessed with and my body needed to change to equip it just for that. .
Forget what you think your body is suppose to look like, love it because it's the only one you get. #lovetheskinyourein
Happy Friday! I have so been looking forward to this weekend because I am sending Jim and the girls to his parents lake house so that I can get a massive post Christmas/spring cleaning marathon on! I've got my huge to-do list, my playlist set, and I'm just waiting for 5 o'clock to roll around so I can get started!
But before that, I thought it would be fun to do a little #FridayIntroductions because I haven't done one in so long!
So, a few things about me:
I start every morning with a vanilla latte and I typically end every day with a glass of red wine (cab is my favorite) bless it 🏼 I have played the viola since 5th grade and play every Sunday for worship at our church!
Speaking of church, we have attended a PCA church for the last 8 years and love it!
I'm not much for sweets or desserts, but I can eat chips, popcorn, and queso like it's my job.
I love blogging, it's my most very favorite hobby/job that I've ever stumbled into and I'm so glad I get to do it in addition to staying home with my girls!
So, that's a little about me! Let's hear some fun things about you! #TGIF 🏼 Photo cred: @elahtree

How often do we look in the mirror or jump on the scale only to speak negative words to ourselves?
What we say we hear!
What we say our kids hear!
We have the power to learn to love ourself & teach our children the same! It isn't always easy, it may take time, it may even take someone else to help us out, but putting in effort to start looking in the mirror and saying at least one positive thing about yourself each day is a POWERFUL thing
