Happy World Rhino Day! Rhinos are such amazing animals and we're losing EVERYONE OF THEM due to poaching! Some A*holes in Vietnam and China use the horn as a "medicine" to get erection, literally! And they pay a ton of money for the horn of these beautiful creatures! This is Sudan, a lovely lovely lovely beautiful gigantic cute rhino, which is the last male northern white rhino ON EARTH!!!!! On earth, this is the last one!! And that's why we were crying; he is sad, he knows the fate of his species! He's old, he's 45 years old and they live for 40-50 years! He can't reproduce and he cannot be replaced! In #olpejetaconservancy they take a very good care of them, but that's not enough! Some amazing guards like @jemu_mwenda are taking very good care of #sudan and other rhinos and we all should be thankful of them! Sudan is sooooo lovely I can't use any words. Wish he lives for hundreds of year and never sees any extinction, but that's not the reality. The reality is some a*holes still need the f#king erection, and they'll kill EVERY SINGLE ONE OF RHINOS TO EXTINCTION, unless we do something! #rhino#rhinos#kenya#mountkenya#extinct#extinctioncrisis#sudanrhino#lastmanstanding#naturephotography#loveanimals#hatepoachers#WorldRhinoDay
Balcony at Solio Lodge...peaceful spot to sip coffee and watch the sunrise over Mount Kenya... @thesafaricollection
So this is in my IG story but I wanted to share on a larger platform describing what happened. It was magic. Moran is a male Cheetah at the Animal Orphanage part of the Mount Kenya Safari Club. We shared a very special moment as I slipped my hand in his sanctuary, he leaned into me as I started feeling his fur, he was purring. He went quiet and turned to grab my hand with his mouth. I showed zero fear and he playfully let go and started to lick me continuously. I have never felt a connection like this to such a large predatory being. We connected and I'm going back tomorrow to see what else we can get into together. I feel like I was kissed by a King because in my eyes that's exactly what he is...royalty. We humans are not so different from them at all. There is love, compassion and understanding. Thank you, Moran. See you tomorrow, my Brother.
