PROTEIN MYTH BUSTING🏼 I hear a lot of myths/misconceptions about protein that are killing peoples progress after all their hard work in the gym, here are just 2 I hear most often:
Too much protein is bad for your kidneys. FALSE, if you already have very poor kidney and renal function then doctors will tell you to stick to a low protein diet which is where this myth stems from. However there is no data showing that high protein diets (within reason) negatively effect the kidneys of healthy individuals whatsoever!
You can only absorb 25-30g protein per meal FALSE, you can absorb any amount of protein you eat, it will end up in the blood stream at some point. Now the best amount for an anabolic response is 30-40g so that's the best portion size to keep digestion at a good rate, the protein is properly absorbed and used for muscle building. Anything over that in one go is just not necessary for most people, and eating protein won't instantly make women 'too bulky' either 🏻. Protein is ESSENTIAL to our body's for any type of repair on a cellular level, you name it, muscles, bones, enzymes, organs, skin, hormones etc all need this vital macronutrient, so if you're training shoot for 1g per pound of body weight to start with and you'll be fine! Even the word itself is derived from the Greek word "proteios" which apparently means 'of first rank of importance', so unless you're a veggie don't avoid meat, EAT MEAT 🏻 #nutrition#healthy#cleaneating#protein#mythbusting#facts#bodygoals#bodytransformation#bodybuilding#fatloss#fitfam#fitspo#fitness#gains#mydubai#dubai#dubaipersonaltrainer
