It’s no big deal.
*That your house looks like your washing machine threw up.*
*That your gray hairs are visible to the public. *
*That you don’t shave your legs for the entirety of both Fall and Winter months.*
*That sometimes you hand your kid the iPad so you can steal a few moments of quiet sanity for yourself.*
*That you wish the old Taylor Swift was still alive. You liked her.*
*That you are still scared of spiders.*
*That no one in your family has a single pair of matching socks.*
*That your real life is not Insta-perfect.* Don’t sweat it, Friend. Perfect is boring anyways. And *really* - it’s no big deal. #giveyourselfabreak
As a fitness trainer, as a human being, I have weak areas that I need to work on. I'm not ashamed to admit it. We all have things we want to improve on and mine is my flexibility.
I have started yoga to help me improve this and here is me trying out one of the warrior poses I have learnt .
I think this 🏼is so true! We are all trying to show our best side to others, filter our world and create our best angle for everyone to see. But perfection doesn't exist! We all have flaws. IG is a wonderful platform for networking, motivating others, making contacts and getting inspired, but let's not forget we are all running our own race separately.
We are all so different and therefore our end goals and outcome will be different also.
Unfortunately I think we gage our best efforts when we hold ourselves up next to something or someone we compare ourselves to. I totally get this but it puts us at an unfair disadvantage right from the get go. And isn't it interesting that we are more likely to compare ourselves to those we darn well know are in a league far surpassed where we currently sit; a model with 1 million followers. 🤦🏻♀️ We set our sights so high and out of range without a realistic benchmark.
We can't know the background to those we compare ourselves to. We cannot know their real truth, only our own. No one's life is without struggle...no one's!! Why do we assume someone's life is full of bliss based on a glimpse of their life? We all have our up's and down's, good day's and bad, no matter how successful we appear to others. Everyone is still trying to figure life out. It's just that some people make it look like they already have....they haven't. With every new day comes a new and unique challenge.
So keep your eyes on your own prize. Aim for your own personal best and be an encouragement and an inspiration to others rather than envious of what they have.
You'll get more by giving all that love away
Just something to think about. Peace 🏼 and happy Wednesday.
