Love animals and wanna contribute to helping them?
I just added this drop off container to my Lash Room for all of your used/unwanted spoolies! **This includes the wands you receive at every appointment with me as well as any mascara tubes that you're getting ready to throw away!! When you come by all you need to do is make sure any wand you dispose in this container has been cleaned prior with soap and water Each time the container is filled to the top, the mascara wands will then be mailed by me to a cause that helps rehabilitate our wildlife by getting rid of fly larvae, fleas, etc. using these wands! *Ignore the Sp that transferred
The Palestinian village of #Lifta, one of over 500 Palestinian communities exiled by Israeli forces in the 1948 #Nakba (The Catastrophe). To follow the delegation on the ground in #Palestine, go to go.ifpb.org/JustFaith17 ・・・ #Repost from @artcoloredglasses:
Yesterday we visited the Palestinian village of #Lifta which was attacked by Zionist militias and destroyed during the #nakba in the lead up to the creation of the state of Israel in 1948.
Part of the village is now designated as a nature reserve and Jewish Israelis use it for picnics, camping, and other such things.
Some of the Palestinian families that were forced out currently live in Jerusalem and Ramallah and are not allowed the very basic right of return to this day.
In the third picture, the buildings on the hill overlooking Lifta sit on the remains of the village of #deiryassin where Zionists massacred 100 Palestinians during the Nakba.
To learn more, check out Zochrot, the Israeli organization that led the tour and has many great resources dedicated to documenting and educating about the Nakba. #justfaith17 #travel #travelforgood #travelforjustice #rightofreturn #palestinianrefugees #refugeestories #refugees

Conflict, persecution, political instability and poverty in parts of Africa and the Middle East continued to compel people to make dangerous sea crossings to seek a better life in Europe. Following a migration deal between the EU and Turkey, the numbers of refugees crossing the Aegean to Greece dropped, but arrivals in Italy, across the Mediterranean Sea from North Africa, went up sharply. According to the UNHCR, 181,436 people made that crossing in 2016, an 18 percent increase on 2015. 2017 has already registered a 20% increase on last year. Refugees are frequently crammed into unseaworthy craft, often without lifejackets or sufficient food, water or fuel. Many do not survive the three-day journey to Italy. Rescue vessels operated by NGOs and charities patrol international waters off the north Libyan coast to assist people in distress. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀#WPPh2017#migration#refugees#migrants#sea@refugees#photojournalism#crisis.
World Refugee Day was met with an explosion of dance, song, and craft. This day celebrates the courage of the millions of men, women, and children who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict. #WelcomeToPhiladelphia #CityHall #WithRefugees
'Inflatable Refugee' is a 20-foot tall sculpture created by Belgian artists collective Schellekens & Peleman. It is part of a nomadic art project aimed at drawing attention to the European refugee crisis. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, over 1 million people entered Europe between 2015 and 2016, fleeing economic hardship and military conflict. As of 2014, the total number of forcibly displaced people worldwide is now almost 60 million, the highest level since World War II. Keep up the great work @studioschellekens#creativechange#refugeeswelcome#refugees#artivism
