Feeling really sorry for myself that I'm going to miss the march in D.C. on the 21st.
I just need to say that I stand behind all women, of all colors, sexual orientation and religions. I will be there in spirit and will be praying that our words and our efforts are seen around the world and that it moves many hearts.
I will be thinking of little Emmy, Anna, Ella and Ava as they grow up in this world that seems to be moving backwards in time instead of forward. I will be thinking of the sex slaves, the child brides, the domestic abuse victims, the rape victims, the women couples who are denied their freedoms to adopt children, get married or even come out of the closet. I will be thinking of all the Trans people who are bullied and beaten.
First meeting (proper meeting, with a secretary taking minutes and chocolate digestive biscuits) in three months. Required Town Shoes and a dab of scent behind my ear. A day of no play, working on a big food/catering document and my head hurts. I want to lie here and cry. Looming over every minute of the day was concern for my friends in Fish Hoek, Simonstown and Kommetjie, where a devastating fire is ranging. I want to weep for all the heartache the fires have caused over the Cape in recent days.
We're here rooting for you and burning a candle for your safety and a good rain. Please take care. #capefires#thereinspirit#southpeninsulaprayers
