In the initial days of travel I would ask the driver about the distance and the time the expected place would take and do my own calculations. One thing I was yet to understand, that in this terrain, schedules and kms are mere parameters. The journey is unpredictable and yet wonderful.
The same distance could take you a few hours or a day or if you're lucky may leave you stuck in a place for a few days. "Baar baar puchne se manjil jaldi Nahi aati, aur door lagti hai, ...bas safar shuru kar diya hai toh manjil, aa hi jayegi "
N once I understood this, I started living the journey for what it is.
The change in landscape, people trekking, cycling in a pack or camping.
At higher altitude, sky so blue and clear, that you can see the colours of the rainbow in it,
Every corner seems different, yet perfectly the same,
Pelting shooting stones and landslides too.
The world's most treacherous road is here to traverse,
This one is to the men who defy the terrain and weather, who make travel possible for the army and civilians, man the roads amidst constant landslides...BRO #respect#borderroadsorganisation#borderroadsorganization#traveldiaries#offbeattravel#offbeattraveler#kinnaur#spiti#india#nanoblog#throwback
