You all know how much of a fan I am of HOKA runners, well Raul Torres of @bocahawaii has the BIGGEST inventory that I have even seen on the island! A couple years ago I switched after wearing asics for over 25 years. Since wearing HOKA I have run every marathon blister and injury free. With contest prep I often run 8-10 miles a day often doing HIIT/plyos/sprints...not once have I ever had shin splints. So anyways go see Raul and tell him I sent you and he'll hook you up with my athlete discount. Btw he also has all sorts of gear for cycling, running and more! Sharing is caring and proper footwear is your first line of defense between the ground and your body. Be a beast but be safe! Xoxo. Lifestyle and transformation specialist since 1992 🏼. Our boy done good!
60th out 143 This was my first triathlon and I prepared far less then any article would ever advise you to. Why? Did I want to fail? Do I not like being prepared? No, I wanted to prove my lifestyle and my training keeps me fit and healthy to take on anything
So the event, the distance was half ironman, the twist at the end climbing Ben Nevis
Absolutely blown away with the event, my placing and my time (about an hour quicker then I predicted), felt so happy with where my fitness is at. To join in on a totally different sport and hold my own. Racing side by side with and placing right amongst experienced ironman competitors, club runners and dedicated triathletes. That have spent hours and miles dedicated to the sport
🏻1.2 loch mile swim, I can still feel the cold chills now. Swimming is not my strong suit and the only thing I practiced prior to September as 25m in a pool was hard work until @olicocks95 worked his magic. My first open water 800m was 24 minutes which I got down to 16.38 before the event. So with a lot of triathletes capable of 10-14 minute 800m my aim was just to start steady and I pbd both 800 laps at 15 minutes and got out feeling fresh
🏼56 miles through the hills and winds of Scotland was absolutely amazing and the best part of the race for me. With amazing views and the part of the race where I did the best placing 31st
🏻 13 mile run, 5 miles plus 8 miles to the summit of Ben Nevis and back with the climb to the top nearly cancelled due to thick fog and winds of 40mph to contend with the organisers did a top job to monitor the situation and allow the event to go on
Last but not least massive Thankyou to my one woman support team and number one fan @sadie.york who believes in me more then I do. The leisure club and pool was nice to recover in but the Egyptian themed walk in bath was better
