A year in review 1) a wedding that was absolutely perfect, not everything went according to plan, but it was perfect. 2) a honeymoon that was so fun, and the trip of a lifetime 3) Chewy tumbled off a rock cliff, fell into the ocean and almost died . 3) After being home from the Honeymoon for 2 days, we found out we're pregnant! 4)So tired from being pregnant, running was becoming less frequent due to my nap schedule 5) we ran/walked the 10k anyways, even though we hadn't been training for it 6) I lost my job right before Thanksgiving. 7) Adam did water aerobics w me 5 days a week, it was the only place I was comfortable, 8) Traveled to Alaska for Christmas, so fun, but I was so pregnant and in so much pain. 9) A few days after getting home my OB was concerned that my blood pressure jumped way up. They did some tests and came back a week later. I had Severe Pre-Eclampsia which later developed into HELLP syndrome, which led to having Lucy at 32 weeks. 10) Lucy is seemingly healthy but is in NiCU because of her gestational age. 11) we thought since she looked so healthy we might be able to just bring her home with us. 12) Lucy begins having apneas when she is sleeping deeply; she stops breathing. 13) I was discharged after 5 days, and we had to leave Lucy at the hospital 14) We spent the next couple weeks going back and forth to home and the hospital. 15) Lucy got her own room, we were able to stay w her 24hrs a day 16) after 24 LONG days, we brought her home. 17) Adam was laid off after a month of forced unpaid leave, because Adam was "too distracted" w Lucy being in the NICU. 🙄 18) We've both been at home since Thanksgiving. 19) We haven't had an income since Lucy was born. 20) We're broke, a mountain of medical bills, on food stamps and cash assistance through the state.
And I wouldn't change a damn thing about this year, because it's what put us on the path we're on.
Oh and one last thing, I'm officially late to send my wedding thank you cards, I had horrible pregnancy carpal tunnel, and then the Nicu and then having an infant, it's a slow process, I have about 1/2 done. But I'm working on them, and maybe they'll be sent by our 2nd anniversary.
