This morning, I had the wonderful opportunity to speak to sophomores at my old high school and tell them all about my social media "career" (I use the quotes because I still don't feel like an adult quite yet) and the path I took to get here. So I was honest with them and told them about how there's no one way to get to a career and how I got where I am by answering yes or no to the simple question "Do you like this?" (And how I basically owe my whole professional life to #HarryPotter.) They we're all super tired and zoning slightly, but I hope at least one thing I said resonated with them. Because as much as the advice of "do things you like" has frustrated me over the years, it has been the best advice I ever got. Revisiting my high school is always a wonderful reminder of who/where I've been and what I've done since. As long as they'll keep inviting me back for random things, I'll always consider #WHS home.
