Zebra Coalition is a proud supporter of the UCF LGBTQ Services. This week we participated in the Lavender Lunch, an event geared towards LGBTQ+ students and their allies. It is an opportunity to discover important resources located across the University of Central Florida campus, as well as community partners in Central Florida. #ucf#universityofcentralflorida#ucflgbtq#ucflavenderlunch#lgbtyouth

Meet Jae, a transgender 20 year old who recently moved into their very first apartment with the help of our rapid rehousing program. "Without Anne at Zebra Coalition, I would not have had a place to call home. I went from living on the streets to a shelter and now I have my own apartment and recently found a job. Anne changed my life." Thank you for sharing your inspiring story with our coalition partners today, Jae. Congratulations on your success! #lgbtyouth
"Gnome Tree" created by Zebra Coalition youth member Ashlyn. Join us for our Art with Purpose group on Wednesdays at 5pm!
We are so proud of Zebra youth Christina Rhothimir, who is featured in the July/August edition of Seventeen Magazine! The article "Change is Good" highlights 17 youth voices who are making the world a better place. Christina is a champion for LGBT Rights! "Being an LGBT teen is the hardest thing," says Christina, who has experienced bullying, homelessness, and the challenge of finding an open-minded employer. Christina teamed up with Orlando-based Zebra Coalition, a group that provides resources for LGBT youth, and began speaking publicly about issues they all face. "When advocating for LGBT rights- which are human rights- being able to share positive messages is crucial. I just want to be able to enjoy life, and so many others do too." #lgbtyouth#seventeenmag#seventeen17#seventeenmagazine
Yesterday, Orlando Health awarded 22 organizations over $232,000 in grants to support health in Central Florida. Now in its second year, the Community Grant program has donated over $500,000 to organizations with similarly aligned goals of keeping our community healthy.
We would like to thank the Orlando Health Community Grant program for supporting Zebra Coalition's mental health expansion into Osceola County. We are so grateful for all that you do in our community!
The Orange County Library System (FL) presented us with "Letters From Strangers," inspirational messages from the community.

LGBTQ YOUTH - SPEAK OUT ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL EXPERIENCES!
Help GLSEN inform education policymakers and the public about what’s really going on in our nation’s schools by completing the 2017 National School Climate Survey, GLSEN’s tenth national survey about the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth in school.
If you attended high school or middle school sometime during the last school year (2016-2017) and are at least 13 years old, tell us about your experiences in school. (If you did not complete the entire school year you can still participate in the survey.) The survey is completely anonymous.
For more info and to complete the survey online, visit: www.glsen.org/survey
