With no access to Bangladesh’s health facilities, Rohingya women with a malnourished baby wait to be seen by medical professionals who work for international non-profits.
The Rohingya, a muslim minority considered one of the most persecuted in the world, has fled repression in Myanmar for generations. Earlier this year I was in Bangladesh for National Geographic Magazine when about 75,000 Rohingya refugees crossed the border to escape a crackdown launched by the Myanmar security forces after nine policemen were killed in an attack believed to have been carried out by Rohingya militants. But Bangladesh, already poor and overpopulated, shows no enthusiasm for hosting them. Half a million undocumented Rohingya live in the country with no right or access to employment, education, or basic health care. The full story was posted today on nationalgeographic.com. I do a drive by thru my kitchen where I notice our family chef, Chef Evelyn preparing my baked sweet potato fries.
I respectfully take over for a hot minute adding just the perfect amount of cinnamon and liquid stevia extract so everyone will love them. Only problem is, I will destroy the sweet potato masterpiece as soon as they come out of the oven, before anyone else has a chance to taste greatness, so only daddy's tum tum gets that sweet yum yum.
Aaaaand that sounds really creepy.
Carry on chef. 🤙🏾
Video of the Day: Where did you watch the #eclipse? Drop into #totality with #GoProFamily member @chrisfarro + read below for the breakdown.
"When life gives an opportunity like this, it's worth moving mountains to make it happen. With a 48hr notice from @iflyheli, I booked a red-eye flight across the Pacific Ocean, straight onto his helicopter at 12,500 feet to witness and skydive below nature's most phenomenal spectacle. Thank you, @abekislevitz and @margaretkindred for capturing the moment. I was so overtaken by the awe of what was happening around us that I almost forgot I was standing on the side of a helicopter. It's hard to explain in words and pictures what it was truly like, but skydive or not, it was an experience that I will never forget." - @chrisfarro
