If you see one: TEAR IT DOWN. We will not be a city that lets this bullshit stand. My heart is furious. I'm opening at ten and if you nazi jerks wanna come by my place, I'll show you the side of my wooden bat. Let's go. #punchanazi#rebelsupply#ap

Solidarity & a drive to move society forward & closer to freedom for all regardless of race, class, gender, or ability guides the work at IF YOU WANT IT.
We must think critically about the systems we encounter every single day. The systems we’re born into. The systems that uphold power structures, protect the privileged & oppress the disadvantaged. The systems that tell you you’re going to have to work significantly harder than the person sitting right next to you because of where you were born, how much money your family has, your gender presentation, or your body’s functions. The systems that say “you can’t leave home to explore the world,” or “you’re more likely to be in prison for the exact same crime as someone else because of your skin color,” or “you can’t wear that item of clothing and if you do you’re going to get pummeled on the sidewalk.”
Gender as a system is not natural. There’s no inherent way that one “should” be, and no one should be persecuted for failing to be a perfectly fitting puzzle piece. Gender is a social boundary that has been created and upheld through the ages, working its way into western societal truth - while erasing the stories of those who have existed and will continue to exist on the outside. Gender is, in part, why we have a wage gap, lack of gender diverse leaders, why the literary cannon we’re taught in school is almost all (white) men. It’s also, in part, why transgender women of color face disproportionally high murder rates. Gender can be beautiful, but it can also limiting beyond measure.
Often enough, gender is so pervasive that makes it hard to envision what it would mean for no human to be limited by it. One good step is to simply begin by going to the “Gender Systems” wikipedia page. Read about gender in other cultures. Become educated about how gender is different across the globe. Feel educated & empowered: then read more trans narratives - like of those tagged here.
