New home. Good bye California. Hello North Carolina. I'm not going to lie it's been hard keeping a workout schedule while moving - but I'm getting a few days in a week and watching my food like crazy. Intermittent fasting is life during major transitions and my strength training to help me in time of need. This IS the reason I live the fit life. So...I don't share a lot in a bikini 🤔here we go. No filter. I have stretch marks from two kids. I don't have a six pack even though I workout 6 days a week...BUT I am strong and healthy. That's what I want my daughter and my son to be - fit, strong, healthy, and confident. I share this with you because you should know my insecurities and my imperfections even though it makes me uncomfortable - we all have them and it doesn't make us any less. It makes us human. One. I think I like this shirt - hence it showing up in a lot of pictures. 🤔Two. This pump only last for like an hour and I looooveee it! Arms are my favorite (follow the Powell's transformation app - they have both male and female weight lifting workouts) - it makes you feel so strong! Three. I found a new gym, which I needed to get out of my 'slacker' space. Yes, I've been cycling and running/walking but for me that just maintains my body weight and decreases my muscle mass - and makes me soooo hungry. So anyways...hi everyone. Sometimes you get to be proud of your progress instead of always wanting more or breaking apart your entire self. Traveling across country, working a new temporary job, handling children in a place that's not their own, knee and ankle pain, poor sleep, etc. Instagram hides all these things. Sometimes a win is just showing up and doing the best you can. I didn't want to show up - I wanted a glass of wine and to watch the bachelorette...and some days I will JUST be lucky enough to make it there. I was only able to workout three times this week with all the travel and time zone adjustment - but I was at least able to keep this muscle mass. I once had a therapist ask me - what do you want (kind of like the line from the Notebook)...really, what do you want? I quickly snapped back in tears, I don't know. I just want to breathe and feel calm and acceptance for the place that I am in. So you want peace she said. Yes, that's what I want - peace. That was the moment I started chasing peace. Asking myself every time something occurred or was about to - would this or did this bring me peace? And if it didn't the course or decision had to be changed. Happiness is fleeting, so is sadness and pain. But peace can be maintained because it is a choice. Making and allowing people and things into my life that bring me peace is a priority. Have you ever thought that seeing results takes forevvvvvveeer? Well. It does. The scale is at the same place and I've felt a little stuck. So this week I will add a little more HIIT and more reps with less weight. Please know that sometimes your mental and physical transformation sucks and it's hard, and you don't want to do it. But you will be so proud of yourself if you don't make decisions based on how hard things are and if you're feeling tired I am also fascia blasting like a crazy person and then using cold therapy to recover my muscles. Remember if you're stuck there is a reason. Do you need more calories or less? Do you need more cardio or less? To you need to add another weight training day or another recovery day? Body hack yourself. Test things out (don't be scared) write it down and then see what happens. We are not perfect beings. I am not a perfect being - IG helps me capture the 10 percent of my life that is "perfect." We mess up all the time. Morning hacks. Coffee, well because I need it. Vitamin D, most of us are deficient - and our immune system NEEDS it. Energy gummies - one, they are good, two, vitamin b12 is life. MCT oil from the spoon when I don't add it to my coffee. Cuts cravings (a lot), feeds my brain, and boost my metabolism. And finally, charcoal -- especially during the weekend. I didn't know I had issues with gluten until I was around 16 years old (no it's not a "fad" for some people). For me it is harder for my body to handle these types of food (and lactose) compared to a "normal" person - and I just feel better without it. So...the kids get meatball sandwiches and I get polenta with meatballs and fresh parmesan on-top...with wine of course. Work arounds -- not deprivation. I am constantly reminding myself (painful) to find balance in all things, food, gym, life, family, and....fun. Because the truth is we are all going to die and we better enjoy this life to the fullest while being the healthiest that we can be.... #food#healthyfood#yummy#foodie#balance#healthyeating#life#lifestyle
