Gelli prints. Please stroll through these photos to get a sense of the process that happened in our free family art night. Gelli prints happen to be one of my favorite art processes. With squirting paint on each plate, color mixing, taking tools to create visual texture, using other tools to take paint away for relief, there is no wrong way to play. .
I was first introduced to Gelli printmaking at a National Arts Education Association conference about 4 years ago, and immediately was intrigued and excited for an open ended process-based art supply. These are used from our toddlers to adults for their versatility. And to think we didn't even introduce stencils, nature, or paper cut outs for playing with negative space! . #gelliplate#gelliprint#notpaidtosaythis#downtownnovato#creatingleadersoneartworkatatime#artteacher#studio4art#familyart#artstudio#kidscrafts101
Meet + Make. Free art day!
Come check out the summer camp offerings at Marin's Studio 4 Art and have fun getting creative on our free Meet + Make Day! This event takes place on Friday, March 31 from 6 to 8 pm at Studio 4 Art's Novato location at 1133 Grant Avenue.
Introduce your child to new fine art skills, gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of art making, and take a peek at just some of the awesome projects in store for campers during the summer. Teachers from both the Mill Valley and Novato camps will be on hand to instruct and have fun with you.
Studio 4 Art has been teaching art in Marin for over 17 years and has 17 camps offered in five locations throughout Marin this summer, including Novato, Mill Valley, Marinwood and Fairfax. Campers from toddlers to teens can explore painting, drawing, wheel throwing, ceramics, mixed media, fashion design, collage, photography, animation, and printmaking.
Studio 4 Art summer camp programs offer a great way to learn art techniques, art terminology, and hints and tips in creating, all through fun experiences. Instructors are highly qualified teachers who become inspirational mentors, encouraging children to take risks and experiment.
Our teens and tweens in drawing + illustration class.
Our teaching style is a little unique. We celebrate the child in what excites them, fuels their imagination and desires. -
Students choose what images and material they would like to use. We go over technique and "tips and tricks" along the way to meet their art abilities and scaffold their learning to achieve personal goals. All working independently, yet learning in a diverse group educational environment.
This is what process art can look like with older students. #drawing#artstudioforkids#artstudio#illustration#teenclass#middleschoolart#teenart#artteacher#studio4art#afterschoolart#processart
