If you want the floral skulls for the new Snug Soft Vest you'll need to be quick as stocks are limited. But, if skulls aren't your thing don't worry ..... I've got teddy bears, soft pink florals, unicorns and countless other options .
We are 1 week old!! We have celebrated by pooping multiple times for dad, peeing all over mom and dads bedroom wall, and not napping all day!
We took our first bath at home today. Wade had mixed emotions and shared his confusion by giving mom and dad their own shower too! 🏽
When your sister sends you this photo of your son from the hospital. Holy chin!!! By the way he doesn't look this chunky in person!!
A few of our favorite shots from the hospital. We had such a phenomenal staff at Henry Ford West Bloomfield! The nurse we started the day stayed almost 2 hours past her shift just to help mentally support me for the c section and to meet our little man!
Well here he is everyone, meet Wade Eugene-Alexander Vest!!!! Mom was in and out of the hospital towards the end of last week and finally mom woke up Saturday (July 23rd, 2016 our original due date) at 6am with terrible contractions but went back to sleep. Mom woke up again at 7am and told dad we needed to get to the hospital asap! Mom was 3cm dilated with contractions every minute or so once they arrived at the hospital. After 12 hours of labor at 5:55pm mom and dad were prepping for a c-section because the doctors were telling mom that baby Wade was going to be in the high 8 pounds and they were not sure if her body was going to naturally let her deliver. Once mom was taken into the surgery room it took longer than usual for the numbing medication to take effect but finally things were ready to go! Wade Eugene-Alexander Vest arrived into this world at 6:53pm weighing a whopping 9lbs and 14oz (would have been over 10lbs if he didn't go potty as he was coming out) and 22 3/4 inches long! Everyone is home safe from the hospital now and we are adjusting to our new lives. We are not having visitors until our fur babies have adjusted a bit more and mom is able to move around easier though! We are so very pleased to finally share the news with everyone!!! 🏽
Well we are officially completely full term at 40 weeks! Baby Boy Vest's due date is today and it doesn't look like he plans on making an appearance. Baby boy is the size of a jackfruit or a large watermelon. Baby boy is fully developed and his body is completely prepared for the real world! Mom's doctors have scheduled for her to be induced next week because they feel it is the safest choice for both mom and baby (unless he plans on coming on his own beforehand!) mom cannot believe how large her belly is at this point and both mom and dad are very anxiously waiting to meet their son!
Just hanging out with my fellow preggo goats at the Oakland County fair!
We have made it to week 39 with Baby Boy Vest. Baby is now the size of a large pumpkin and baby's pink skin has now turned white. Baby's brain is still rapidly developing and he is able to flex his limbs now. If it isn't obvious enough by the photo, mom is completely exhausted and very large. Mom had intense contractions from midnight to 6am but Baby Boy has still yet to make his grand entrance. Mom is praying that baby will come soon as it is almost impossible getting dressed and following through with daily chores at this point.
We are officially at week 38. Baby Boy Vest is now the size of Swiss chard and he is now producing more surfactant which is a substance that protects the air sacs in his lungs from sticking to one another once he is breathing outside of the womb. Baby boy may have up to an inch of hair on his little head at this point too! Doctors confirmed yesterday that mom's cervix has softened a lot and little Vest could be coming soon. Mom and Dad ask that you please contact them before coming to visit Baby Vest once they are home (we have fur babies to worry about also!) and if you are feeling under the weather that you please hold off until you are feeling better! We are all very excited for baby's arrival but we want to be sure that we make this a very easy transition for the pups too!
We are at week 37 with Baby Boy Vest! Baby boy is the size of a winter melon and is practicing inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid in moms belly. He is also sucking his thumb and turning from side to side all the time. Mom has been getting used to being home all day and finding things to do to pass the time, including some nesting of course! Baby Boy is moving and shifting very hard in moms tummy almost like he is trying to break out! We're only 3 weeks away and mom and dad cannot wait to meet Baby Boy!
We are at week 36 with Baby Boy Vest! Baby boy is the size of a bunch of leeks or a very large cantaloupe. Baby's skin is becoming smooth and soft and his liver and kidneys are in working condition. Circulation and immune systems are good to go also! Mom's turkey timer (belly button) has officially popped out and can be seen through her shirt. Mom and Dad now visit with their doctors once a week to check Mom and Baby's status. Mom's last day of work is this Friday so she can start preparing the final touches on everything for Baby Boy's arrival!
