To me, to live is to fight. It's about persevering. It's about testing yourself. It's about not becoming complacent. #oqtagonbyjave#eightsides
NEW just added to the website. The Octagon Diamond Ring.
The octagon is believed to have a cosmic balance of eternal life and infinite love... the number 8 is also symbolic of renewal. Renewal can be defined as the process of growth and transformation. 8 also commingles with some other pretty great creatures too... spiders, octopus... also things which if they lose a leg, they can grow back. **All things love with the promise of renewal.
Working on my first Biscornu, the past few snow days have been productive at home!
It's been tricky getting back on to my crafty based Instagram, but now that I am here I can finally follow up on @slyspun's question: #WIDN, some embroidery, #ATM I have 10 stitches left on @carolyn.stevenson's baby blanket for Little S and I'm suddenly not prepared to let it go. But it will be finished tonight and ready for delivery this weekend.
#majorrant even in black and white this sign still has 8 sides and says stop. You know what else it has? Flashing lights and a colossal metal rectangle painted the ugliest vivid yellow known to mankind full of other people most precious children attached to it. *
When this red non flashing sign is at the end of a metal post on some quiet street in suburbia America I bet more people obey the sign, stop, and they might even pause to look before heading into the intersection. But take the same sign, slap some flashing lights on it and fasten it to a big yellow bus full of children and suddenly at least 5-20 people a week are blinded to its existence. At least that's probably how many stop sign runners I'm averaging a week.
There are days no one runs it but yesterday 6, SIX, S-I-X, different cars ran my sign as I opened my doors and reminded some little person to 'look both ways before you step off the bus'. SIX. *
Now I want to know what is so all fire important to this person that 49 seconds of their time is worth more than the life of a child? Where in heck are they going that getting there blinds them to flashing red lights and make them suddenly illiterate? If there were a fluffy scared little rolly polly puppy in the road would they break for it? *
Just stop. It's a concept people practice every day at intersections all over the world and when the sign is tethered to a school bus full of children it's just as important, if not more. And it's the law.
First time drinking from an octagonal bottle. Viru (5.0%) - a 'premium Estonian beer'.
Sadly, the bottle is the highlight here as the beer is merely another bland lager from Europe. Plus, the bottle is 300ml....I feel cheated.
